On March 16th, 2019, I set out from Huntington Beach, CA on a journey to New York City. I ran an average of 43 miles a day for 75 days, crossing a total of 3,175 miles. My mission was to create conversation with people about positive food choices and promote a plant-based diet.
The preparation for this run was thorough, from the physical training, to the logistics of crew and supplies, to adapting to the many unforeseen challenges we encountered along the way. In many ways, this run set me up for a lifetime of big dreams.
I ran through big cities, rural countryside, and the Navajo Nation. Not once did I encounter a nay-sayer or an unsurmountable challenge. This run inspired me to keep reaching for big projects.
